What we do!
Provide after school learning activities for children and parents. (Art, Knitting and Craft, Speech & Drama, Cookery, Singing, Parenting).
Support Múinteoir Denise, her staff and board of management. (Cleaning, moving furniture and packing, book fairs, transport).
Provide catering for school events and functions.
Organise social family events to enable parents to meet and get to know each other. (Halloween parties, concerts, after school swimming).
Plan and carry out fund raising activities. (Walks, calendars, demo nights).
We keep you informed on what is going on in the school with regular newsletters and open meetings.
As a parent you can talk to any one of the committee members and raise issues you feel are important to you. Also we would love to hear ideas on events, fun days and other activities which will add to the variety and fun at Scartleigh National School. At all the events we run, we get great support from parents, you don’t have to be on the committee to help out.
Congratulations to all the parents who climbed Ireland’s highest peak Carrauntohill (see pictures below)
The school facilitates parents and children by making rooms available for activities outside of school hours conducted by private individuals who are Independent Contractors. These activities are not part of the school curriculum and are not regulated by the school which only provides facilities to enable these independent contractors and parents to make arrangements between themselves. Parents discharge any fees payable directly to the independent contractor who is responsible for all aspects of the service provided. Contractors have their own insurance. While the school makes every effort to facilitate all parties, neither the Board of Management of the school nor the trustees of the Parish can accept any liability whatsoever for any matter arising in connection with such activities or in neglect or default of any such independent contractor whatsoever.
