Athletics - Cork City Sports 2017!

Yesterday our athletes swept the boards at the annual Primary Athletics Championships in CIT. In the morning, our boys won the overall prize in their section picking up several individual gold, silver and bronzes. Pride of place went toTomás Condon for his blistering run to win the U-11 100m and a special mention goes to our U-11 team who took bronze in the 4x100m relay. In the afternoon the girls matched the boys' achievements ...and more! They too took the overall team prize with Rachel Desmond and the McRae sisters Maisie and Ellie Kate taking individual golds. The U-11 girls blew the field away to win the 4 x 100m relay gold while pride of place went to Ellie Kate who qualified for the U-8 County Final finishing third. It was a wonderful day for our school and all our athletes were outstanding! Well done!

A special congratulations to David , who played for Cork against Tipperary in the Primary Games Competition. It was a proud day for our school with both David and Múinteoir Luke featuring on winning Cork teams on the same day and on the same pitch. Up da rebels!

Sciath na Scol Hurling Finals - May 2017!

When it's not your day it's not your day! Both our hurling teams made it through to the Sciath na Scol Hurling finals last week and both unfortunately experienced the bitter taste of defeat. The boys lost a thrilling final 6:04 to 5:04 to an excellent Scol na nÓg team while the girls were beaten by a much physically stronger Ovens NS . However, ever gracious in defeat, both teams showed terrific character and we are all very proud of them.

Well done to all our cross country runners who went to Castlelyons on Friday, the 23rd of September.
